This is a two day interactive training that will teach you the basics of Orton-Gillingham, a multi-sensory reading program. Orton-Gillingham helps build a strong phonics foundation while also working on phonemic awareness, vocabulary, fluency and comprehension. Participants will learn the following components of the program: placement tests, 3 part drill, teaching a new phoneme, red words, dictation and syllable division. Participants will receive materials needed to begin to implement the program.

At CKSEC, we love kids and families! Unfortunately, due to liability issues and professional decorum, children and other family members or friends are not permitted to attend our trainings.
Please get permission from CKEC prior to video or audio recording a portion or all of a CKEC session.
Please dress in layers as it can be difficult to adjust the temperature.
Attendance Policy:
If you register to attend a session, but find you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration as early as possible. Space is limited and by canceling you will allow others to benefit from these highly qualified professional development opportunities. A fee could be assessed for no shows.
Districts will be notified of those who registered and did not attend or did not cancel prior to be session.
