Target Audience: Teachers, SLP’s, and OT’s of students with Communication Disabilities

By registering for this training, you are registering for 5 days. (Sept. 24th, Oct. 26th, Nov. 30th, Dec. 15th, and Jan 28th)
The purpose of this partnership is to empower teams to implement evidenced based strategies for building communication competence for students with moderate to severe disabilities. Participants must register as a minimum team consisting of 1 SLP and 1 teacher (it is also recommended that an OT join). The team must share at least one student with moderate to severe communication needs. Participants will be required to attend the 5 days of training. Teams will develop and implement a communication plan for their student. Teams will complete follow-up activities in their classroom between the trainings. Topics to be addressed include: working as a team, functional communication, scheduling to providing integrated services, developing and implementing the IEP, communication evaluations, and Assistive Technology.

Please get permission from CKEC prior to video or audio recording a portion or all of a CKEC session.
Please dress in layers as it can be difficult to adjust the temperature.
Attendance Policy:
If you register to attend a session, but find you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration as early as possible. Space is limited and by canceling you will allow others to benefit from these highly qualified professional development opportunities. A fee could be assessed for no shows.
Districts will be notified of those who registered and did not attend or did not cancel prior to be session.
