Tax Rate Essentials (No Charge for CKEC Members, $15 for non-members) 

Speaker: Chay Ritter from KDE and a team of experienced Finance Officers

Target Audience: Superintendents, Finance Officers, and District Board Members

Description: How do you set tax rates? How do you prepare for a tax rate hearing? What is the compensating tax rate? What does it mean to take the full 4%? What does the tax rate mean now and in the future for the kids of your school district? What does the financial information on the School Report Card mean?  Chay Ritter and a team of experienced Finance Officers will answer these and other questions to get you ready for the year ahead.  Districts are encouraged to bring a team of three: Superintendent, Finance Officer and District Board Member.  Lunch will be served.

At CKSEC, we love kids and families! Unfortunately, due to liability issues and professional decorum, children and other family members or friends are not permitted to attend our trainings.

Please get permission from CKEC prior to video or audio recording a portion or all of a CKEC session. 

Please dress in layers as it can be difficult to adjust the temperature.

Attendance Policy:

If you register to attend a session, but find you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration as early as possible. Space is limited and by canceling you will allow others to benefit from these highly qualified professional development opportunities. A fee could be assessed for no shows.

Districts will be notified of those who registered and did not attend or did not cancel prior to be session.
