Bolstering Word Problem Instruction No Fee for CKEC Member Districts, $35 for Non-Member Districts

Target Audience: Intermediate and Middle School Teachers (Grades 3-8), Interventionists, Instructional Coaches

Description: 

Students at all levels struggle with word problems.  The focus of this workshop will be to provide teachers with tools for helping students become better at solving word problems.  We will explore misconceptions such as reading and understanding terms (including vocabulary) and distinguishing between relevant and irrelevant information.  Interventions for each of these will be demonstrated as well as the use of various reading strategies that can be applied to help solve word problems.

Please get permission from CKEC prior to video or audio recording a portion or all of a CKEC session. 

Please dress in layers as it can be difficult to adjust the temperature.

Attendance Policy:

If you register to attend a session, but find you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration as early as possible. Space is limited and by canceling you will allow others to benefit from these highly qualified professional development opportunities. A fee could be assessed for no shows.
