Target Audience: Teachers grades 4-8, Instructional Coaches, Special Educators

Description: Teaching students to “read like a detective” and use textual evidence to support their thinking is a key component of College and Career Readiness. This session will focus on strategies for teaching close reading skills to students, ways to promote rereading of text and deeper thinking in the classroom.   Participants will have opportunities to practice writing text dependent questions for close reading, selecting texts that support close reading and engaging students in the process.

Please get permission from CKEC prior to video or audio recording a portion or all of a CKEC session. 

Please dress in layers as it can be difficult to adjust the temperature.

Attendance Policy:

If you register to attend a session, but find you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration as early as possible. Space is limited and by canceling you will allow others to benefit from these highly qualified professional development opportunities. A fee could be assessed for no shows.
