Understanding and Supporting Children with Tourette Syndrome and Associated Disorders 7-16-14 PM 

Speaker: Kahty Giordano, National Association of Tourette Syndrome

Target Audience: Special Education Teacher, School Pychologist, Social Worker, General Teacher, Counselor, Director of Special Education and Administrator.

Description:

This is a repeated session

“Understanding and Supporting Children with Tourette Syndrome and Associated Disorders” will discuss how Tourette Syndrome (TS) and co-occurring conditions like OCD, ADHD, and executive dysfunction, among others, impact learning and behavior. This presentation will address behavioral management strategies and accommodations to improve classroom performance and create a positive educational environment for students with TS. Particular emphasis will be given to the importance of functional behavioral assessments and positive behavioral interventions and effective strategies for students with TS and related issues.  All participants will receive free educational materials to share with their school district.

CKEC accepts purchase orders, checks, or money orders for payment. CKEC, for auditing purposes, can not accept cash. 

Attendance Policy: If you register to attend a session, but find you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration as early as possible. Space is limited and by canceling you will allow others to benefit from these highly qualified professional development opportunities. A fee could be assessed for no shows.

Districts will be notified of those who registered and did not attend or did not cancel prior to be session.
