Building Early Language and Literacy Skills With Dialogic Reading Summer Institute 7-23-14 P.M.

Speaker: Carol Brooks

Target Audience: Preschool-grade 2 teachers, interventionists, SLP, special education teachers

Description: Children who start behind, often stay behind.  In the United States, about 1/3 of children lack vocabulary, sentence structure and other basic early literacy skills they need to be ready to learn.  Research shows that Dialogic Reading substantially impacts early language and literacy.  In this session participants will learn and practice strategies for effective dialogic reading in the PreK-2 classroom that will increase comprehension and build language.

EILA: Yes
