Growing Up with Asperger’s? 7-16-14 - AM

Speake: Kahty Isenhour

Target Audience: Special Educator, and General Education Teacher, Counselors, School Psychologists, and Para Educators

Description:

This session will explore the challenges of being an adolescent and being diagnosed with autism spectrum (AS). The typical adolescent or teenager is bombarded daily with a mass amount of overwhelming sensory information. However, for the student with AS every social interaction could be compared to trying to solve a five hundred-piece puzzle with time restraints. The session will provide insight into the efforts those with AS must make just to get through a typical day.

EILA: No

If you need ADA accommodations, please email Brandi Carroll at brandi@cksec.org.
