7-8-14 Achieving Fluency: Supporting Struggling Learners in Mathematics

Target Audience:

Special Education teachers, General Education teachers, math interventionists, Directors of Special Education, Instructional Supervisors, Principals; all grade levels

 

Description:

What is mathematical fluency all about?  Why do some students struggle to become mathematically proficient?  This workshop is designed for teachers and administrators who work with students with disabilities and other students who struggle in the mathematics classroom.  Using current research, participants will examine some of the obstacles to learning math and ways to help students overcome them.  Particular attention will be paid to the various strands of mathematics (number/operations, algebra, geometry, measurement, and data/probability).  Participants will leave with ready-to-use information and strategies for Achieving Mathematical Fluency.

Attendance Policy: If you register to attend a session, but find you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration as early as possible. Space is limited and by canceling you will allow others to benefit from these highly qualified professional development opportunities. A fee could be assessed for no shows.
