SALISBURY MANSION ASSOCIATES
CANDLELIGHT CELEBRATION
Word that the Worcester Employment Society was planning to significantly alter or tear down Salisbury Mansion set off alarms in 1955. Acclaimed writer Esther Forbes mailed postcards to friends confirming the time and place of a meeting to address this threat at 23 Trowbridge Road. The attendees formed Salisbury Mansion Associates (SMA) and three years later bought the property.
In 1982, SMA partnered with Worcester Historical Museum, which undertook thorough restoration of the mansion, and in 1984 the two organizations merged, having saved a piece of history for future generations.
Come celebrate by the glow of candlelight at Salisbury Mansion with light refreshments and merriment.
