Course Description:
This presentation addresses the functional and protective roles of saliva. This is followed by a discussion on the prevalence, etiologies and impact of xerostomia and the potential oral health consequences of this condition. Current and novel therapies available for the prevention and management of associated diseases and conditions will then be discussed, including the evidence base for their use.

The overall goal of this course is to provide information on xerostomia. After attending this presentation, participatnts will be able to:
