AMP
Atlanta Mission Project 2016
AMP is a missions/service project that has been put together to give mid and hi school students a summer opportunity to impact their community for the Kingdom of God. Over four nights and three days, students and adults will spread out across Forsyth County and Atlanta to serve in the name of Jesus.
Be sure to sign up by June 1st to take advantage of the Early Bird Discount. Refer to the column to the left for camp pricing information.
AMP is open to rising 7th graders through graduating seniors.
AMP consists of several components; each one with a specific purpose.
Worship and Teaching - Each day, students will gather for Worship and a message aimed at allowing them to come into the presence of God; to experience God and to prepare them to serve in His name.
Team Competition – Students will compete together in family groups for a common goal. They will learn to support each other and will also learn that winning isn’t everything. This component ensures that students and their adult leaders have fun together…it’s not all about the work.
Service – It is important that students be given the opportunity to step outside themselves and their common routines. Much of our culture is centered in self. We want students to look around their community and not only see need, but respond to the needs of others. This is done in a safe, planned environment and is always done under adult supervision.
Host Homes, Meals and Lodging - Because the days are intense, busy and sometimes long, students need a chance to just get away for a little while. Host Homes: To give students a place to rest, clean up, hang out and just chill, we are enlisting the help of several families who will open their homes during AMP. Meals are provided at specific times each day and there will be plenty of water and snacks. Lodging: Students will dorm at the Warehouse with areas designated and separated by gender. Adult chaperones will be provided for the over-night portion of AMP.
Our hope is that we will have a great turn out of mid and high school students who will serve alongside returning college students and caring adults. We hope to make summer 2016 an experience that will be remembered for a long time.
We can use all the volunteer help we can get, and if you are an adult, please consider joining with us to make AMP a special place of impact for the Kingdom of God. Volunteer today! (Contact Mary Weitzel @ 770-355-1561 or marywzl@att.net or Brian Weitzel @ 770-298-8009 or brianwzl@att.net )
