Dr. Petra Gruber - Apart from her professional work as an architect, Dr. Gruber holds a Ph.D. in Biomimetics in Architecture from the Vienna University of Technology in Austria. She also collaborated as a research fellow at the Centre for Biomimetics at The University of Reading, UK. Her research spans from projects for the European Space Agency on lunar base design, informed by folding principles from nature, into proto-architectural spatial solutions.
PROGRAM: Biomimicry in the Built Environment
This is a workshop on a topic that is on the cutting edge of what is coming next and will help architects, designers, general contractors, builders, and building supply representatives apply the science of biomimicry to the built environment. The event is an opportunity to attend a pre-convention educational seminar filled with continuing education credits, live demonstrations, and hands on activities.

Toledo Area Professionals Band Together for In-Depth CEUs
Toledo-area professional organizations have been able to bring in-depth continuing education to their membership through across-organization collaboration at cost. The organizing activity was dubbed the Construction Industry Continuing Education Alliance and is branded with the acronym CICEA (pronounced see-sea). The Toledo region chapters who make these continuing education events included:
AIA, ASHRAE, AGC, CSI, NSPE, USGBC, TST, and TRACE.
