Speaker: Darrin Scott Hunter, Assoc. AIA - Dish Design
Topic: "Architectural Photography Workshop: the Business of Beauty"
Most architects don't fully consider the business impact that photography has on their practice. In fact, very few of the people who are exposed to an architect's designs ever visit those places in person—the majority experience architecture through photographs.
The rise of social media has also vastly changed the public's perceptions of photographic style and taste. Mobile phones are by far the best cameras we now own because they are always in our pockets. But they still aren't considered "serious" tools for professional work.
In this workshop, Darrin Scott Hunter will debunk architectural photography biases and myths, discuss the business of photography planning, and help participants practice making "serious" architectural photos with their own mobile phone cameras.
**This meeting is a little different format - BRING YOUR CAMERAS or SMARTPHONES! There will be a 30 minute presentation, a 30 minute team photo exercise and concludes with 30 minutes for Q&A.
NOTE: To get the most out of the group exercise, participants should bring their mobile phones fully charged! Apple iPhone users can use the built-in iOS camera app. Android users should buy and download the "Camera ZOOM FX Premium" app ($3).
We apologize for the delay but ask that you have your reservations made by NOON 2/14 so we can call in an initial food count.
