Joe Keal, AIA; BNIM Architects

Mr. Joe P. Keal is an Associate Principal at BNIM Architects in Kansas City, Missouri. He has been involved in a variety of project types and he currently serves as a market sector leader for both educational as well as cultural/performing arts design practices at BNIM. His notable projects include the Peter Lewis Center for Performing Arts at Princeton University; the Seaton Hall renovation & Addition at Kansas State University; the Fayez S. Sarofim Research Building at The University of Texas Health Sciences Center in Houston; and the LEED Platinum Kiowa County K-12 School in Greensburg, Kansas. Joe also served as a Senior Project Manager of BNIM’s Boy Scout National Headquarters project studio, which is a collaborative culmination of design teams brought together to create a fresh identity as well as experiential facilities for the West Virginia-based headquarter site.

Joe is also a firm leader as related to BNIM’s digital practice and design innovation endeavors (including research and development and implementation). Since 2008, Joe has served as part-time faculty member for the University of Kansas School of Architecture, Design and Planning, where his instruction largely is focused upon the use of digital design tools and sustainable design practices.
