On Sunday, September 20, from 2-4pm at our Elementary Campus, we welcome Jessica Elliott for her workshop "Cultivating Grit at Home."
Grit is commonly defined as courage, bravery, spirit, strength of character, fortitude, determination, and perseverance. According to current research, grit is more important than talent or intelligence in terms of success. Yet with our children, we are leaving out the important ingredients (or opportunities) that promote the growth of grit. This workshop will give you ideas on guiding experiences and opportunities for your child to cultivate grit at home.
Jessica Elliott has been an educator for 16+ years (a 5-year Khabelean!), as well as wife, step-mama, and teacher trainer. She holds multiple teaching certifications, an M.S. in Education and a B.S. in Child Development and has presented workshops internationally. Jessica is the founder of The Inspired Guide, a program of sequential learning offered to parents, teachers, administrators, and learning communities who want to create the most sustainable and impactful learning experiences for their children and themselves.
All Khabele parents are welcome to attend. Childcare is not available for this event.
