Come to Your Senses
Write Your Way Home: Creative Writing and Awakening for Women Daylong Retreat
Online via Zoom: 8 am-4 pm PT
“If you see for yourself, hear for yourself, and enter deeply enough this seeing and hearing, all things will speak with and through you…Zen is less the study of doctrine than a set of tools for discovering what can be known when the world is looked at with open eyes. Poetry can be thought of in much the same way.”
--Jane Hirshfield
Inspire your imagination and unleash your stories in an immersive day of creative writing, meditation, mindful movement, and embodied energy practices. This April daylong will focus on opening and enlivening your senses. Our life stories—whether remembered or dreamed into being—unfold in a cascade of sensory magic: the taste of a ripe nectarine, the click of a dog’s toenails on the kitchen floor, the sound of a garbage truck backing up, the smell of a lover’s neck.
Good writing demands that we pay attention to the sensory details of our embodied lives. Mindfulness practice opens our sense doors so we can write more vividly—and live more fully.
April's Theme: Come to Your Senses
Every Write Your Way Home daylong includes:

*writing prompts and exercises that awaken imagery and story
* inspirational poems and quotes from women writers
*practical teachings to make your writing more vivid and powerful
*sharing your writing in small groups of women without judgment or critique
