Matter and Form Inc was founded in early 2013 on an idea for an inexpensive and easy-to-use desktop 3D scanner. After a record-breaking Indiegogo campaign in April 2013, the founding partners set out to build and manufacture the scanner, write the scanning software, and build a sustainable business, while under the watchful eyes of the international tech media and a thousand crowdfund backers. Trevor Townsend is one of the founding partners and will tell the story of the creation and management of Matter and Form, from its beginning to the present day. 

Background: Trevor has had a diverse career path, including roles in software development, IT consulting, business analysis, and music. He's written software used by multinational corporations including ArcelorMittal, Home Hardware and Staples to manage employee time, authored reports on IT requirements for the manufacturing, retail and reinsurance industries, and co-authored a web gaming system capable of supporting millions of simultaneous users. He has also written and performed music sold and reviewed around the world. Trevor is a founding partner and Chief Technology Officer at Matter and Form, a Toronto technology company whose mission is to make creating and using 3D content effortless for everyone.
