Sunny has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Manitoba graduate, majoring in actuarial mathematics. She has obtained her FSA (Fellow of the Society of Actuaries), FCIA (Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries), and CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) designations.
She has been with Canada Life now for over 30 years and, throughout that time, has worked in various areas across the Company in both business and risk management areas including Individual Customer, Group Customer, Financial Management, and Asset/Liability Management.
Sunny joining the Risk Function in 2013. As the Head of Enterprise Risk Management, she provides independent risk oversight of risk-taking activities across Great-West Lifeco (Lifeco), to ensure that the group keeps its financial promises while growing shareholder value; and has responsibility for Lifeco’s global Risk Appetite Framework and supporting processes while facilitating risk-return optimization.
Within Canada Life, she is a member of a number of committees including the following: Diversity Leadership Council, Sustainability Risk Working Group, Operational Risk Committee, and Model Risk Management Committee (chair).
Within the industry, she is also a member of the following: CLHIA (Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association) CRO Policy Committee ORSA (Own Risk Solvency Assessment) working group, Warren Chair Committee (Asper School of Business, University of Manitoba), and the Master of Financial Risk Management Advisory Board (Rotman School of Business, University of Toronto.)

Gang is a Portfolio Manager at TD Wealth Private Investment Counsel. He has over a decade of experience in the financial service industry with proven expertise in financial risk management, investment accounting, mutual fund operations, quantitative equity strategy, investment performance analysis, along with institutional investors and high-net-worth clients portfolio management.
Gang attended the University of Manitoba, where he graduated in 2009 from Asper School of Business with a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree with Distinction, double majoring in Finance and Accounting.
After spending almost three years practicing treasury risk management at the Canadian Wheat Board, Gang joined a global investment firm headquartered in Winnipeg. After spending close to two years as Senior Investment Accountant, he had an opportunity to join the firm's investment management division and spent over four years managing high-net-worth and institutional client portfolios and also a number of equity mandates within the firm's mutual fund portfolios.
During 2015 to 2017, his commitment to continuous education earned him the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) designation. In 2018, his passion towards investment again motivated him to obtain another designation – Certificate in Investment Performance Measurement® (CIPM®). Earning both globally recognized designations conferred by the CFA Institute not only is an indication of his commitment, passion, and aspiration towards his career objectives, but also a recognition of experiences and expertise in both investment and wealth management practices. From 2017 to 2018, his particular interest in Financial Technology (FinTech) inspired him to obtain a FinTech Certificate from Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. Passionate about all aspects of wealth management, Gang is currently enrolled in the CFP® Professional Education Program, which is a pre-requisite program for investment professionals to ultimately obtain the Certified Financial Planner® (CFP®) designation. He is also a Life Insurance Advisor through TD Wealth Insurance Services.
Away from his office, Gang has been actively volunteering at CFA Society Winnipeg promoting the CFA designation and the CFA Institute Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct to university students, the public, and the global investment community.
