BIOGRAPHY:

Timothy E. Burt, CFA, President, CEO and Chief Investment Officer

With over 39 years’ experience in the investment industry, Tim Burt is one of the most respected investment professionals in Canada.  

Since joining the investment department of a large Illinois bank in 1974, Tim has served as a security analyst for brokerage firms in St. Louis and Minneapolis, worked as Richardson Greenshields’ senior U.S. equities analyst, and managed the U.S. stock portfolio for London Life Insurance Co.  Tim returned to Winnipeg in 1992 and founded Cardinal Capital Management.  In addition to the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, Tim possesses Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Finance from the University of Illinois.  Tim is past president of CFA Society Winnipeg and of the Portfolio Management Association of Canada (PMAC).  Tim is currently president and chair of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra and a board member of the Manitoba Cardiac Institute (Reh-Fit Centre) and was awarded the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2012.
