Who is this workshop for?
The workshop is for those who want to deepen their vision and technique in black and white photography. Instruction and guidance will be provided, however, this workshop requires some experience with Adobe Lightroom® and NIK Silver Efex®. Building artistic vision and compositional skills are high priorities in this session as are learning how to refine your images with the software. See contact info to the left if you'd like to call or email me to talk about the requirements or content.
All members of Spring 2013 workshops qualify and have first chance to register for the course.
Workshop description
After registration participants will be sent a document that contains three shooting assignment options from which they will choose one to complete before the session. A shooting guide is also included. You will then finish the assignment and bring 10 -15 images from it to the session on Oct. 19th. Alternately, you can bring 10-15 images from a series on which you are currently working or have already completed. This sequence needs to be thematic and cohesive - not a 'best of' collection.
There will be an introduction and a short talk, then our session will have an experiential emphasis aimed at refining your eye and your technique in B&W photography. Participants will edit a group of their own photos to choose the best images for B&W conversion. Then with Michael's guidance, as well as group discussion and feedback, they will work on polishing those images in Lightroom® and Silver Efex® The goal is to create a collection of 5-6 finished images.
