Enroll in this workshop taught by a representative from the CA Employment Development Department (EDD) to learn about the labor laws that affect your business. The workshop is designed to help business owners comply with State labor laws. The topics discussed are designed to benefit everyone - established businesses, those getting started, and individuals anticipating going into business. The instructor is there to encourage class participation as well as answer any questions you may have.

The workshop will cover the following topics:

  • Recordkeeping, reporting requirements, employer obligations, and payment requirements
  • Common wage and hour law application
  • Employer and employee rights and responsibilities
  • How to distinguish between an employee and an independent contractors
