Understanding Credit Workshop

An overview of credit, credit reporting agency, credit report, and credit scores; understand each component in the credit report and the FICO scoring model; rules of thumb in establishing and preserving credit worthiness and credit standing in order to obtain and use credit; the impact of credit score and the cost of having good vs. bad credit score; consumers' rights, opt-out options, free credit report, identity theft, new credit card rules, and more.

Register Now!Participants learn the importance of viewing credit as an essential asset-building tool. Students are given an overview of the most commonly-used language in the credit industry, types of credit available and the associated costs. They learn about the steps to establishing credit, how to determine how much debt to take on and how to develop a recovery plan when overwhelmed.
