Technology's Impact in American History 2020: The Industrialization of Warfare: The Civil War and World War I

Teachers are invited to apply to participate in a TIAH colloquium on The Industrialization of Warfare: The Civil War and World War I .  Explore how industrialization in the 19th and 20th century changed how the military fought wars in American history.  Examine digitized primary sources from the Library of Congress and items from the archives of the U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center to learn more about the impact of new technologies in the American Civil War and in World War I.  Create a lesson for your students with the guidance of the NCHE team.  

This TIAH colloquium is a collaboration between NCHE and the Teaching with Primary Sources Program of the Library of Congress in cooperation with the United States Army Heritage and Education Center.

Details: 

Each participant will receive a $500 stipend to offset costs associated with attendance (ex. travel or lodging costs - lodging is not provided).  Breakfast and lunch will be provided at the venue for participants on each day of the colloquium.  Each attendee will receive a complimentary one-year membership to the National Council for History Education and will be eligible for additional professional growth opportunities.
