Shofar - Tashlich in the Park 2020

Even in these challenging times, we gather together to hear the Shofar and fulfill the mitzvah.  Please join us for our social distancing, outdoor Shofar - Tashlich Service at Sycamore Valley Park Pond.

The combined services will last about 30 minutes.  We have scheduled an additional 15 minutes at the beginning of the services to allow attendees to safely arrive and get settled in their spots, and added 15 minutes at the end of the services to allow for a safe and social distanced departure.

The following sets out the terms and conditions between Beth Chaim Congregation (BCC)  and you when you register for this event. By registering for this event, you are agreeing to comply with these terms and conditions. You should read the following carefully.

Acceptance of Policies and Registration Conditions

The following BCC Registration Terms & Conditions (the “Terms & Conditions”) apply to this event. Prior to your registration, you must acknowledge and accept the Terms & Conditions contained herein. Should you not wish to accept the Terms & Conditions you should not register.  Submission of your registration is regarded as affirmation of your acceptance of the Event Terms & Conditions.

Outdoor Religious Services

  1. BCC is required to maintain a list of participants for 14 days after the event.  Volunteers will be onsite to help with security, RSVPs and monitoring.  Be kind to them.  Remember they are with us to ensure our safety.
  2. Please arrive with your family name written on a large sheet of paper, so that we can mark off your RSVP when you arrive.
  3. Everyone must stay at least 6 feet away from other people (except people in their own household) at all times.
  4. Bright markers will be placed onsite around the pond at least 10 feet apart in all directions.  Please choose a marker and stay with that marker.  If your family unit is more than 4 people, please use two markers side-by-side.
  5.  A mask must be worn over your nose and mouth at all times.
  6. Public Restrooms are available until 8:30 pm at the  park.  We encourage you to use restrooms at your home before coming to the event.
  7. There will not be food or drink available at the services.  Please do not bring food or drink to the service.
  8. Use of shared items during a gathering is prohibited except within your own household.
  9. Shofar blowers will have coverings on the ends of their shofars to prevent any aerosol travel.
  10.  Birdseed for the Tashlich Service will be provided to you in a sealed packet prior to the event.  In the event that you do not remember to bring it with you, there will be some extra packets available on a first come-first served basis.
  11. It is recommended that you bring your own hand-sanitizer.  However, BCC will have hand-sanitizer on hand.
  12. Services are limited to 100 people per State and County health orders. However, if this event registration is full, the park is a public place and you are more than welcome to come and enjoy the park and enjoy the services as well from a safe social distance away from the group.
