We are Proud to Welcome "Let Your Light Shine" as Our Fall Music Series Concert Feature Act!

Join us on Sunday, November 3rd at 3:00 pm ET for our Fall Music Series Concert and warmly welcome "Let Your Light Shine", featuring vocalists Claudia and Bob Hughes, to our Sanctuary!

As a special treat, they will be accompanied by our very own Music Director, Chris Dabbo on piano! This performance is open to all in our Church and community, so spread the word. There is no admission and we only ask you consider a free-will donation.

Professional Bios

The group “Let Your Light Shine” was formed in 2008 with Claudia and Bob Hughes on vocals and Chris Dabbo on keyboard.

The group regularly performs at healthcare facilities to brighten the day of those physically and emotionally in need. In 2009-2010 the group expanded its venues to include numerous senior centers in the region.

In 2010, upon Chris Dabbo’s move to Memphis pursue a Master’s in Jazz performance, Mark Templeton became the group’s accompanist. Since that time the group has continued it focus on senior settings, but now also performs in venues like the Mattatuck Museum’s First Thursday’s Jazz Program, the Waterbury Exchange Summer Music Series, and various party settings.  Claudia and Bob also perform in local church services.

“Let Your Light Shine “ features a broad range of vocal duets and solos in numerous musical genres including standards, gospel, opera, classical, sacred and pop.

Claudia Hughes has been a professional singer for many years specializing in jazz vocals and included the role of lead singer in numerous bands in the region. In 2006 she released a CD, My Romance. Claudia is also a keyboardist and vocalist with the all girl band Illuminata and has studied voice with Rosemary and Bill Finnegan, Marianna Vagnini, and Richard Derosa. She currently studies classical and jazz piano with Jack Tyrell.

Bob Hughes is a member of the Connecticut Choral Society and also sings with its A Capella sub-group, the Chambers Singers. Bob also performs a classical and standard solo repertoire in various settings. Bob has studied voice with European Opera star Perry Price and now studies with former Montreal Opera mezzo soprano, Valerie Sorel. He also has worked with Hartt School of Music professor, Eric Trudel, and from 2009-2012 Bob was President of the Connecticut Choral Society.

The Music Committee has been bringing high-quality acts to Burlington since 2002, check out the varied and talented people and groups who have spent an afternoon wowing the crowd!
