Colossians 3:14-15

CBF Chaplain and Pastoral Counselor's Retreat

This year's Assembly in Memphis offers a special time of recognition for the CBF endorsed chaplains and pastoral counselors in attendance. Immediately following the Assembly chaplains in attendance are encouraged to continue their fellowship at the Chaplain's and Pastoral Counselor's Retreat to be held at Methodist LeBonheur Healthcare beginning at 2 PM. Offered by CBF Global, the event is an opportunity for continuing education and fellowship.

The workshop leader is Rev. Chris O'Rear.  Chris holds an M.Div. in pastoral care & counseling and a Master of Marriage & Family Threrapy.  He is licensed in Tennessee as a Clinical Pastoral Therapist and is endorsed as a pastoral counselor by the CBF.  He was certified as a Diplomate in the American Association of Pastoral Counselors and currently is the founder & director of the Counseling Center at Belle Meade United Methodist Church in Nashville.

Scholarship assistance is available for CBF endorsed chaplains and pastoral counselors.  To attend, make your reservation with Gerry Hutchinson, Endorser for Chaplains and Pastoral Counselors, at ghutchinson@cbf.net.

Register today for a Pilgrimage to Memphis - Tennessee CBF General Assembly 2018 at Memphis' historic First Baptist Church. Dr. Kevin Cosby will help us reflect on Dr. King's vision of Beloved Community amid the recognition of the 50th anniversary of his assassination.  Registration of $20.00 includes two meals and snacks, conference programming, and a resource fair geared toward equipping you to continue the conversation back home.  There's so much to do (and eat!) in Memphis that we hope you'll consider coming early and staying late.

About Our Speaker - Dr. Kevin Cosby

Dr. Kevin Cosby is our worship proclaimer and dialogue facilitator. Dr. Cosby serves as Senior Pastor of St. Stephen Church and President of Simmons College, both in Louisville, KY, and is a leader in the Angela Project, a partnership among three national Baptist bodies to be profiled at the 2019 CBF General Assembly in Birmingham.

Come Early!  Stay Late!
There's lots to do in Memphis!  To enhance your pilgrimage, we strongly recommend that you plan to take in one of the following while in Memphis:

Resources for the Pilgrimage
Because music is often a catylst for both our fellowship and formation, we are offering a "Pilgrimage Playlist."  A link to the playlist will be sent to registrants the week prior to General Assembly.

Carpooling
May we also suggest that you plan now to travel with someone, both to enrich your pilgrimage and to leave a smaller environmental footprint? Please let us know if you'd like to offer a ride from your region.
