"Future Vision of Case Management" 1.5 CCM CE by Jose Alejandro, CMSA President, PhD, RN-BC, MBA, CCM, FACHE, FAAN 

Dr. Alejandro received his PhD in Human Services from Capella University; MBA in Accounting and Health Care Management from the University of Dallas; MSN in Nursing Education from University of Phoenix and BSN from the University of Texas at Arlington. He started his nursing career as a Licensed Vocational Nurse.

Dr. Alejandro is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives and the American Academy of Nursing. He is certified in case management by the American Nursing Credentialing Center, Commission for Case Management Certification and the American Case Management Association. In addition to CMSA, he is a member of the American Academy of Nursing, American Association of Men in Nursing, American Organization of Nurse Executives, National Forum for Latino Healthcare Executives (NFLHE), American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), National League for Nursing (NLN), Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing (STTI), American Nurses Association (ANA), National Association of Hispanic Nurses (NAHN) and Organization for Associate Degree Nursing (OADN).

Kristy graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1986 and has had the opportunity to practice Occupational Therapy throughout the country.  Before joining Touch Bionics, she enjoyed building her career and specializing in Upper Extremity Rehab.  She also has vast experience in acute care, skilled nursing, rehab, outpatient settings, and even school settings.   These experiences allow her to focus on improving independence and provide a very holistic approach.

  "The Case Manager Lawsuit; Prevention & Preparation Through the Eyes of a Case Manager and Legal Nurse Consultant and CCMC Code of Professional Conduct" 1.0 CCM Ethics                    by Laura Opson, RN-D, LNCC, CCM, CE

Laura Opson, RN-D is a Registered Nurse, Nurse Delegator, Legal Nurse Consultant and Case Manager Certified.  Laura’s nursing work has included working with medically intensive adults, children and neonates.  She practices as a Legal Nurse Consultant providing expert services to Legal Teams and also as private Case Manager working with people recovering and living with complex injuries including catastrophic, spinal cord, and Traumatic Brain Injury (mTBI).

Laura has been welcomed as a presenter to organizations including Case Management Society of America (CMSA), Washington Medical Case Management Association (WMCMA), Washington State Association for Justice (WSAJ) and the former Puget Sound Legal Nurse Consultants. Engagements have included speaking on the topic of brain injury, Case Management, and Legal Nurse Consulting.

Professional Memberships include the Brain Injury Association of Washington, Washington State Medical Case Management Association, and Pacific Northwest Neuropsychological Society.  Laura is President Elect for WMCMA and liaison to the Public Policy Committee where she promotes health care and case management at the national level.

When Laura is not working, she raises chickens, does yoga and keeps a small garden. Laura is delighted to be the mother of wonderful, funny, bright children.

  • Pick up the Poster CE Signature sheet at check in desk.
  • Attendees must visit a minimum of six exhibitors with presentation posters and receive presenter signature between 7:45 am and 1:30 pm to obtain the 1.0 CCM CE credit. The participating Poster CE vendors will be placed throughout the exhibit hall and identified with a yellow sunflower.
  • Turn in your completed signature sheet to registration to receive your 1.0 Poster CE

GIVEAWAYS:  Giveaways will be done during the lunch hour at the conference. Many exhibitors choose to bring a gift or basket as a prize giveaway item. It is not required but it is a fun way for them to interact and to collect attendee business cards. You must put your business card in their giveaway basket for a chance to win. We will have a specific time for giveaway announcements (during the lunch hour) where the vendors can bring their item up to the stage, take a few seconds to introduce themselves and their company and draw a name! You must be present to win. If you have already won an item, they will draw another name.
