Dr. Drew E. Marshall Christian Education Week of the Trinity Missionary Baptist Church in Pontiac, Michigan.

The Church Post Covid. A Church Evaluation: How is my church doing and what can I do to update/adapt to win souls and transforms lives?

Most churches are using 20th century methods to achieve 21st century kingdom results and not being successful. If we fail to “understand the times” as the sons of Issachar did, (1st Chronicles 12:32) we stand the possibility of decreasing memberships and continued souls being lost to the ways of the world. This class will focus on methods/reason to evaluate church ministry, (programs, teaching, those serving in ministry, and church purpose) and ways to make adjustments that will keep the church relevant and effective.

The Passion Generation:                                                                                            The Seemingly Reckless, Disruptive, But Far from Hopeless Young Adults

Young Adults have disrupted almost every major industry. Whether you’re a parent trying to raise them, a pastor trying to reach them, or an employer trying to retain them, they’re disruptive. As the largest living generation, Young Adults are one of the most studied but misunderstood groups of our day. And the chasm between the generations is only getting wider. This class  will guide you beyond the stats of what young adults are doing to the why they’re doing it and how we can all move toward healthy community.

Hearing God’s Voice (Closed)

“He who belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God. John 8:47. Hearing from God is not as mystical as it may sound. Rather, it is a privilege that all children of God have. As the scripture above states, if you belong to God, you will hear what He says. However, hearing His voice implies that two actions must take place. First, it must be God who is speaking to you and second, you must be listening to Him. Oftentimes though, our prayers, which are usually full of requests, questions, and fears, end when we finish speaking and therefore we fail to hear what God has to say. If you are serious about hearing God’s voice and getting His direction and applying it to your life as you continue to grow your faith, then take this class and learn what the bible says about hearing the voice of God.

YOUTH WORKSHOPS

Jr. High: What does it mean to be YOUNG & BOLD for Christ?

High School: What does God Say? Exploring controversial topics or topics of uncertainty.

Are you a fan of Jesus?  What is your answer?  You attend every movie starring a certain actor, you know the stats of your sports hero, and you can recite lyrics from your favorite songs. In short, you're a huge fan. Are you treating Jesus the same as the other people you admire? Are you doing and believing based on what your parents or others know about Jesus? At some point you have to know Jesus for yourself. He's looking for people who are actually willing to sacrifice in order to follow him; not a fan.  If the church is to maintain its energy and influence in our communities, our youth must learn how to “go fish” for their peers based on what they know about HIM.  Will you be a fan or a follower?
