Description:

Reader’s advisor Becky Spratford has been leading a book clubs for 12 years and has seen it all. In this webcast she will share her tips and tricks for success. All book groups go through their ups and downs, but re-energizing your group is not as hard as it may seem. Becky will also have some useful information about starting a new group as well.

After watching this webcast participants will be able to:

Identify and utilize the best resources for leading a book discussion
Learn how to pick books that will engender the best conversation
Lead a more interactive discussion even with the most jaded of groups
Begin new book groups to targeted audiences and/or outside of traditional locations

Presenter:

Becky Spratford - Between manning a desk at the Berwyn (IL) Public Library and corrupting the minds of library school students at Dominican University, Becky has published the second edition of her book, "The Readers’ Advisory Guide to Horror" (ALA Editions, 2012) last year. Becky runs two popular and critically acclaimed blogs, RA for All (raforall.blogspot.com) and RA for All: Horror (raforallhorror.blogspot.com). She also writes content for EBSCO's NoveList database and is a proud member of The Horror Writers' Association.

Each registration entitles the registrant only to access the webcast. Registrations may not be shared in any way or viewed in a group setting. You may not broadcast or redistribute in any way without prior approval from Mid-America Library Alliance. That includes, but is not limited to, displaying webcast via projector, large screen tv, or overhead projector.
