proudly present Homecoming 2015.

This year's Homecoming activities will take place  Thursday, November 12 - Saturday, November 14, and the deadline for registration is  November 5 at 5:00 pm..

On Thursday, the College chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International will host its Annual Research Dinner.  Friday’s activities will include morning tours of the College of Nursing, participation in the homecoming parade, and the Alumni/Faculty awards ceremony and dinner to recognize our 2015 Distinguished Graduates and DAISY Faculty Award recipients. Saturday, the College will participate in the President's Tailgate (formerly known as the All College Tailgate) and the Homecoming football game. 

THURSDAY:  The Beta Pi Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International will host its Annual Research Dinner.  This year's Research Dinner will showcase the quality research being conducted by faculty at the CON and the impact that research and scholarship have on our students, community, and profession. The faculty member who are presenting along with their research topics are shown below.

  • Laurie Abbott, MSN, RN, PhD-c - The Effect of a Culturally Relevant Cardiovascular Health Promotion Intervention on Rural African Americans
  • Susan Porterfield, PhD, FNP-c and Glenna Gordon Factors Influencing Verbal Abuse
  • Jim Whyte, ND, PhD, ARNP - An Interprofessional Examination of Stigma in HIV/AIDS Service Provision

Sign-in for the Research Dinner starts at 5:30 pm and the dinner will begin at 6:00 pm (3rd Floor, Bldg B, Doak Campbell Stadium).  2 CEs will be provided. The cost for the Research Dinner is *$35/person ($20/person for students) and parking will be available in the stadium parking lot.

FRIDAY:  *College of Nursing Tours: 9:00 am - 12:00 pm,  *Homecoming Parade: 2:00 pm, and the Alumni & Faculty Awards Dinner:  6:00 pm (3rd Floor, Bldg B, Doak Campbell Stadium).  We invite you to come out and help us celebrate the outstanding accomplishments of our wonderful alumni and faculty.

The cost for the Awards Dinner is *$35/person and parking will be available in the stadium parking lot.

SATURDAY:  President's Tailgate and Homecoming Football Game (TBD).  Food, beverages, entertainment, and transportation to and from the stadium will be provided.  Shuttle transportation between the President's House and Doak Campbell Stadium will commence 1.5 hours prior to kickoff, with return shuttles available from the end of the 3rd quarter through 30 minutes after the game ends.  THE PRESIDENT'S TAILGATE IS SOLD OUT!  To learn more about the Tailgate activities please go to alumni.fsu.edu and select the link for the President's Tailgate.
