Farm Financial Skills for Kansas Women in Agriculture: A statewide program to address financial risk amid a struggling farm economy.
Douglas County is excited to host a workshop series aimed at Farm Financial Skills for Kansas Women in Agriculture. This series is comprised of four workshops discussing recordkeeping, income statements, managing family living expenses, balance sheets, stress management, cash flow and developing your big picture plan. We start each workshop with a meal and then discuss topics relating to financial management. Participans will end each session with a hands-on activity where they manage a case farm and have the opportunity to do performance analysis and benchmarking to understand how financial statements can assist in management decision-making. After completion of this workshop series, women will have the skills to make better financial decisions and have a strong network with fellow women managing a farm. Each participant will also receive the Fearless Farm Finances book.
