Guggenheim fellow Bernard Cooper is the author of numerous award-winning books, including the memoirs The Bill From My Father and Maps to Anywhere, winner of the PEN/Hemingway Prize, and, now, My Avant-Garde Education, a chronicle of his life in Pop art, both as a youth struggling with his identity and today, dealing with profound loss.
