This year's workshop, entitled "Healing the Body and MindDuring The “#MeToo” Movement -Effective Treatment of Sexual Pain" will be on Thursday, June 7 from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm. The workshop will be at the Camden County Library in Vorhees.  Space is limited to just 50 people so please register early and secure your seat and CEUs.

Special pricing is now available!

Did you know that physical and sexual trauma puts women at a four- to six-fold increase in experiencing pelvic/sexual pain (Harlow & Steward, 2005)? Recent estimates show about one third of women experience gender based violence over their lifetime. Similarly the lifetime prevalence of pelvic/sexual pain isabout one third of women. Gender based violence is an all toocommon experience for girls and women in the United States, putting them at greater risk for a range of psychological and physical health problems including pelvic/sexual pain. This workshop will prepare clinicians for understanding the mind/body link between sexual trauma and pelvic/sexual pain. Clinicians will also learn to assess and treat women presentingwith "#MeToo" experiences (gender based violence) and pelvic/sexual pain.

This workshop offers 6 CEUs for MFTs and LPCs

  1. Participants will be able to process their own experiences with “me too” and understand how this may be impacting their clinical work.
  2. Participants will be able to understand the link between “me too” experiences and chronic health problems in women including pelvic and sexual pain.
  3. Participants will learn to complete a culturally competent assessment which also screens for “me too” experiences.
  4. Participants will learn how to establish treatment goals that empower women beyond treating their sexual and pelvic pain and “me too” experiences to broader areas of their life (confidence in the workplace assertiveness with partners.)
  5. Participants will learn how to navigate specific treatment concerns when treating women with “me too” experiences
  6. Participants will learn evidence-based treatment strategies for treating pelvic and sexual pain, and related trauma disorders from “me too” experiences.

Our presenter for this year's event is Heather Davidson Ed.M., M.A. The workshop also features Shadeen Francis LMFT as the Keynote Speaker.
