About Our Speakers and their presentations
Kenneth McGill Ed.S, LMFT is a Senior Training Consultation Specialist with Rutgers University’s Behavioral Health Care Research & Training Institute. Mr. McGill has provided trainings and Consultations for the systems partners of the NJ Division of Children’s System of Care for the Past 5 years. He is also a published author and researcher, who has contributed to “systems Of care” knowledge, in particular regarding evidence-based practices. He brings over 10 years of experience as a Clinical Director of a Care Management Organization and as a Family Therapist in private practice. His primary focus has been children and families with “special needs.” Mr. McGill recently received the Praed Foundation’s “Outcomes Champion Award” for his work improving quality of care for children and families by increasing ways to collaborate with and empower all systems partners. His presentation focuses on understanding the important role fathers play in their children’s lives, and strategies to encourage fathers to be more involved with their families.
Jean Banti, MS, MFT, LMFT has been licensed as an MFT in New Jersey for 12 years and as a Psychologist in Pennsylvania for over 35 years, as well as being an AAMFT Approved Supervisor. She began her studies in family therapy in 1978 at Hahnemann University. There, she met Ivan Borzormenyi Nagy, the developer of Contextual Therapy, and continued to study under and later work with him for over 26 years. As the Clinical Director at Contextual Family Services in Flemington, NJ she practices and teaches the Contextual model. Her workshop "Integrating Contextual Guidelines into Everyday Practice" is geared towards practicing family therapists. The Contextual Model can be used to add clear pathways that can unlock powerful interventions. Therapeutic strategies will be discussed for families that are severely stressed or resistant to treatment.
