Tuberculin Skin Test (TST): Training the Trainer with Practicum

The goal of this training is to provide an in-depth educational and training experience for the health careworker who is responsible for screening, administering, and interpreting a TST and is also responsible forconducting a TST training for their institution.

This course is designed for the TB professional who is responsible for training staff and other health care workers on the proper placement and reading of the TST. At the completion of this training participants will be able to 1) discuss basic adult learning principles, 2) list the steps required to set-up a TST workshop, 3) identify persons for whom targeted TB skin testing is indicated, 4) demonstrate the placement of a TST, and 5) employ effective team skills by sharing information effectively.
