The Campaign provides great opportunities to promote your Business or Organization! During the Campaign Dates Participants (Community Members, Munchers, & Judges) come around to taste/see/purchase all that you have to offer, or, while they are shopping online in the comfort of their own home!

Campaign Details 

MUNCH OVERVIEW:

Here's How the Merry Merchant Munch Works for your Business:

Businesses are challenged to create holiday decor and treats for visitors in an Open House type setting. Participants then visit the businesses with their Munch Punch Cards (Included in the 2023 MMM Guides that will be distributed to all mailing addresses in the Chugiak and Eagle River zip codes or pickup at participating Munch Participants) and get at least 10 validations to be entered to win Prizes!

Don't have a store front? No problem, participate on Saturday with us at the Chamber Office/Community Room #170 with your own table! 

The Chamber of Commerce also assigns teams of judges to travel from business to business and select favorites in a variety of categories!

We heard you last year and have made a change:

 This year our Munch Judges will be voting in two different categories: Retail and Non-Retail Businesses and Organizations. 

 

JUDGING CATEGORIES:

1. Tastiest Treats - Savory, sweet, unique, whatever you choose make sure its delicious!

2. Spirit of the Season – Showcasing the magic of the holiday season through their decorations featuring unique holiday traditions or themes

3. Best Tree

4. Merriest Merchant

5. Winter Basecamp for Adventure - Keeping on the Annual Chamber "Basecamp for Advetnure" theme - imagine a winter wonderland! 

6. People's Choice - Yes, the Muncher's choice, not the judges! 

                                              

Deadline for inclusion into the Munch Map is October 27th, 2023. [If you register after that date you will not be in the printed guide - MMM Map]

FACEBOOK MARKETPLACE GROUP OVERVIEW:

Every year, the Chamber hosts a weekend of fun community events including the lighting of the tree in town square, visits with Mrs. Clause, Santa & his reindeer, listening to school choirs and (of course) the Merry Merchant Munch. In 2020 with the impacts of the pandemic the Facebook Marketplace Group was created to provide an online option  for a Cataglog with 1-stop online shopping, Facebook Live Events when In-Person Activities were Cancelled and other Community Announcments. Our Merry Merchants also get to post daily during the Campaign! 

To give you a perspective on the popularity of the Facebook group: It was launched in 2020. Between October 26 and Dec 19 (less than 2 months) the group added 613 NEW MEMBERS! The Online Catalog was visited by 294 others! You want to be a part of this Group!
