If you answer yes, then Community Wellness Focusing (CWF) might be for you.
What is Community Wellness Focusing
Community Wellness Focusing is sharing what you have discovered as you deepen your Focusing skills. It is bringing Focusing into your daily life, sharing what you love about Focusing with others around you, and bringing positive change to the place you live or work. It is, quite simply, community caring and sharing.
Who we are
Community Wellness Focusers from all parts of the world come together monthly to support each other as we live and work. For example, Jerry Conway and Mohamed Atawil have created the Gaza Project to bring Focusing to children traumatized by the violence of perpetual war. Pat Omidian works on projects in Pakistan and Afghanistan using Focusing with psychosocial wellness. Other Community Wellness projects have brought Focusing to people displaced by tsunamis and nuclear meltdown in Japan, to the homeless in British Columbia, and to low-income women struggling to improve their lives in Oregon.
Some join the Community Wellness community because they love the philosophy that CWF engenders - to share Focusing in collaboration with local communities - or because they want to participate in its accomplishments and support psychosocial wellness projects around the world.
A new Community Wellness Workshop
In this collaborative workshop we will explore Focusing as a community wellness tool and look at ways of fitting Focusing into your lives, including community groups or workplace settings. Participants will be supported as they create stepping stones towards their own community wellness work, including joining a growing CWF community, building supportive working partnerships, and possibly launching their own "dream" project.
How it works
There will be "6 hours" of telephone meetings with Pat Omidian and the whole group, and weekly "3 hours" of work to be completed in pairs or small groups-either by phone or Skype.
