Hatillo Elementary School Service Project 

EVENT DESCRIPTION

Hatillo Elementary School located in the community of the same name is about 30 minutes from the Westin Playa Conchal. This school has a total of 65 students in grades ranging from kindergarten - 6th grade. Our group will interact with the children through the creation of an artistic mural depicting a traditional Costa Rican home including many of our feathered poultry friends. This project will create an impressive and original piece of art on the front of the school welcoming students every day for years to come. We will also provide and share a poultry & egg based snack with the school once our masterpiece is completed.  

HOW MUCH TO PARTICIPATE?

Each attendee [adult or child] interested in this Service Project must commit to bring new school supplies equaling $20.00 USD in lieu of any fees. A complete list is provided below. School supplies can be placed in your checked baggage or carry-on luggage. Do not carry-on any school supplies that are liquid or gel. Once you arrive to the Westin Resort you can visit USAPEEC registration to drop the supplies off or bring them with you when you board the shuttle. You are encouraged to donate school supplies even if you are not able to attend the event. USAPEEC is encouraging every Atlanta staff member to bring what they can for this special little school. Note: There are no local stores to purchase these items once you arrive to the resort.

6:30AM Eat a good breakfast! Mitra Restaurant is open at 6:30AM. Factor in the time it will take you to shuttle to the main lobby for departure. Don't forget your school supplies.
