Online registration is available by clicking Register Now! below. Registration forms will be available for download at our website very shortly.
Upon receipt of the registration form and payment, the participant will be sent a study manual and Rad Tech Log Sheets with instructions.
Participants are encouraged to thoroughly review the study manual. Participants who have spent time reviewing the material, have a basic knowledge of foot anatomy, and have taken assisted X-rays in their doctor’s offices typically perform better on the examination.
After completion of the course and exam, participants will be notified in writing of examination results. Upon passing the exam, participants will receive a certificate of completion that must be provided to the Virginia Board of Medicine with a completed application and appropriate payment. Participants may not take X-rays independently until receipt of this license. Should the participant fail the exam, arrangements can be made with the executive director for re-examination in the office of another podiatrist or during the next course.
I am aware that Virginia podiatrists and their staff have continue to face disciplinary action from the Virginia Board of Medicine for allowing unlicensed individuals to perform X-Rays. Again, any individual performing X-rays, other than the physician, must be licensed by the Virginia Board of Medicine to do so. This certification course is the first step toward the licensure process.
Please contact me directly with additional questions.
