IMPORTANT: If you’ll be traveling through the West Reading area to attend our event, please be aware the 400-700 blocks (4th Ave – 7th Ave) of Penn Avenue will be CLOSED sometime during the morning hours through Saturday evening. Be sure to review your travel directions in the morning to avoid those blocks!
This is the event you don't want to miss! Family Guidance Center invites all to come learn about the mind-body connection and take part in our wellness activities that are designed to engage the mind and get your body moving. Featuring a 5k timed run and family-friendly walk, and so much more! Not a runner? Join the walk! Unable to walk? Attend the vendor fair and enjoy a free relaxing chair massage. Better yet, reduce your stress and flex your body while attending a free yoga session with Fred. That's not all! The fabulous Wacky Patti (previously Pipper the Clown) is returning, also free! New for this year is an exciting WHEELS decorating contest and parade featuring a SUPERHEROES theme! Start by decorating your bike, wagon, stroller (anything with WHEELS!) at home like your favorite superhero then bring it to the event to join in on the fun! Show off your wheels to the judges and take part in the parade around the lake! Delicious smoothies by Healthy U Fitness and raffle basket tickets will be available for purchase. We look forward to seeing everyone there!

5k Run / Family-Friendly Walk Information:
- All proceeds benefit Family Guidance Center and those we serve.
- Online registration CLOSES Tuesday, September 14th at midnight. HOWEVER, we can still take in-person registrations for both runners and walkers on the day of the event. Please plan to register no later than 8:30am to be sure your registration is complete prior to the start of the race. The registration table can be found under the porch of Stone House.
Pre-Registration: Register on/before August 20th, 2021.
- Runners: $25 entry fee. T-shirt and swag bag included with paid registration, while supplies last.
- Walkers: $5 entry fee. T-shirts available for an additional charge, while supplies last ($15/shirt).
- Children Walkers (12 and under): Free, please fill out registration form with a signed waiver.
Registration after August 20th:
- Runners: $30 entry fee. T-shirt and swag bag included with paid registration, while supplies last.
- Walkers: $10 entry fee. T-shirts available for an additional charge, while supplies last ($15/shirt).

Kid's SUPERHERO Decorated Wheels Parade and Contest:
This year's theme is...SUPERHEROES!
Calling all tricycles, bicycles, unicycles, scooters, wagons, strollers, wheelchairs, so on - if it is NON-MOTORIZED, permitted in the park and has wheels, we'd love to see it! Decorate your ride as your favorite superhero AT HOME then bring it along for the judging and parade at 10:30am!
- Judging will be based on age groups: birth-4, 5-8, 9-12
- Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each age group.
- All participants will receive a goodie bag
- FREE to participate!
