This 16-hour course provides a detailed look at the current threat of domestic terrorism in the homeland.  As the country faces a rising threat from domestic extremist groups, it has become a hot button and controversial issue.  The course will provide an examination of the definitions of domestic terrorism, the history of domestic terrorist groups and acts, legal issues surrounding domestic terrorism, and what the threat looks like today in the USA.  In addition, domestic terrorist single issue groups and the sovereign citizen movement will be covered.  Finally, current issues involving domestic terrorism will be used as the basis for the class discussions and examination of possible strategies to counter domestic terrorism.
