Social Survival Bootcamp for Business

The ASBDC New Jersey at Brookdale Community College, invites small business owners of Ocean County to attend a no cost social media full day bootcamp on July 16, 2015, at Ocean County College in Toms River, NJ. This high impact bootcamp will include two sessions: the morning workshop session will cover creating a social media strategy, online networking and business building, and the afternoon workshop session will include computer “hands-on” in-depth training on how to use LinkedIn for business development and attracting new clients and customers. Business owners and entrepreneurs can register for either only the morning session or for both sessions. Lunch will be provided for those attending both sessions. Participants registering for the afternoon session must have a LinkedIn account and profile to attend the session.

Social media and online resources provide free opportunities for small businesses to increase brand recognition and connect with their customers and clients. Research shows that customers and clients will first search for a business online before making a decision to contact or buy from the business. As discovered during Super Storm Sandy, social media was used as a primary communications tool for businesses to reach their customers. In cases of business interruption, it is even more critical for businesses to proactively keep their business name and brand in the spotlight so they can be found online.

Facilitator for the Social Survival Bootcamp for Business is social media and marketing expert Lisa Kanda, President of Elkay Corporate Advisors, LLC. Kanda has helped hundreds of business owners get results using marketing, social media and branding strategies.  Kanda is also an instructor for the ASBDC at Brookdale Community College Digital Blueprint Certificate Program and a Social Media Consultant for the Center, assisting clients utilize social media to grow their businesses.
