Maryland State Flagging Requirements:
All workers performing flagging operations along Maryland roadways are required to have Flagger training and certification. The American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA) is a recognized provider of Flagger training and certification in Maryland.
The State of Maryland Flagger Exam (written exam) will be administered at the conclusion of the morning training and must be passed before the ATSSA Flagger card can be obtained. Both the training and the test will be conducted in English.
