John Boyd, CEO Banker Exchange; Tax Credit Marketplace

Bio: John Boyd is an experienced entrepreneur responsible for the founding and growth of numerous enterprises across a wide array of industries. In 1992, Mr. Boyd became aware of the difficulties people had in 1031 exchanges, and as a result, he founded Boyd Corporation, which later became Banker Exchange. Mr. Boyd has been at the helm ever since, providing trustworthy expertise to those involved in 1031 exchanges of all kinds.
Between December 2004 and October 2011, Mr. Boyd was principally responsible for the assemblage of nine properties at the corner of Main Street and Washington Street in downtown Greenville, SC. Mr. Boyd negotiated a development arrangement with Hughes Development for Greenville One, the largest private investment in downtown Greenville’s history with an estimated completion value in excess of $100 million.
Having assisted developers with monetizing South Carolina Revitalization state income Tax Credits since 2009, in September 2013, Mr. Boyd founded Tax Credit Marketplace, LLC. Mr. Boyd, Tax Credit Marketplace, LLC, and its principals and affiliates have since placed in excess of $9 million in SC Tax Credits.
Mr. Boyd is currently CEO at Banker Exchange and Tax Credit Marketplace. With Banker Exchange, Mr. Boyd is actively involved with clients, guiding them through the exchange process from start to finish. At Tax Credit Marketplace, Mr. Boyd works with developers to help monetize their tax credits, while seeking the investors to purchase the credits.
Mr. Boyd is a graduate of Furman University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration-Accounting concentration. He earned his CPA designation in February 1988, a designation he held until December 2005. Mr. Boyd currently holds a South Carolina Real Estate Broker’s license and FINRA Series 7, 63, 24, and 27 licenses.
