Instructor Bio:  Dr. Maria Solacito earned her veterinary degree from the University of the Philippines in 1992, and trained at Purdue University to earn her US veterinary license in 2007.  Dr. Solacito was a small animal general practitioner with special interest in emergency medicine until she joined the County of Los Angeles, Department of Animal Care and Control in 2008, as a Shelter Veterinarian.  In 2012, she took over the Senior Veterinarian position and now oversees medical operations at all of the 6 DACC Animal Care Centers.  In 2013, Dr. Solacito and her veterinary team started the department's in-house Euthansia by Injection training and certification program which included the review and re-certification of all Animal Control Officers and Animal Care Attendants that had their initial certifications two years and beyond.  Dr. Solacito's class emphasizes the performance of duty with compassion, focusing not on just the skills and knowledge to perform euthansia, but on the core values that this very important procedure involves.

The Course Fee is $100 per person for CACDA Members or $150 for non-members.  The registration fee does not include lunch.
