Our Speaker is Dr. Gary Landis, CFPIM, CIRM, CSCP and APICS Master Instructor. Dr. Landis will be speaking on the topic of "Implementing an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System for Remanufacturing".
Remanufacturing is a form of recycling that reuses machines that no longer work. This process is performed by disassembling a piece of equipment to repair it, recycle it, or harvest its parts.
The remanufacturing of expensive, long-living investment goods is now being extended to a large number of consumer goods with short life cycles. Reuse is an alternative to material recycling to comply with recovery rates and quantities as well as special treatment requirements mandated by regulatory authorities.
This presentation is based on a case study where Dr. Landis was involved in an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) remanufacturing implementation. One of the greatest challenges was to obtain sustainability through culture change.
