APICS Tampa Bay December 10, 2013 Holiday Networking Event

Topic: Winning With People

Discover the people principles that work for you every time!

APICS Tampa Bay, the leadng association for supply chain and operations management, invites members of local professional associations, the academic community and business professionals to our Sixth Annual Holiday Networking Event on December 10, 2013 from 5:30 to 8:30 pm at Bascoms Chop House, 3665 Ulmerton Road, Clearwater FL 33762.  Our Speaker is Kim D. Moore, Coach, Teacher and Speaker with the John Maxwell Team (JMT); coaches, speakers, teachers and communicators worldwide mentored by leadership authority John Maxwell.  She will be speaking on the topic of Winning With People.

If you can win with people, you can win every time!  Many people focus on other talents and abilities first – such as polishing their communication or leadership skills or taking courses to expand their base of knowledge – but they forget that good relationships are the foundation for achievement.  Winning with People will provide you with the tools you need to immediately improve your existing relationships as well as cultivate strong and exciting new ones.

Using a unique blend of interesting facts, statistics, humor, real-life examples, and questions for discussion, Winning with People will show you how:

The Skills You Use + The Relationships You Choose = SUCCESS

In life, the skills you use and the people you choose will make or break you.  Based on the book “Winning with People” by New York Times best-selling author Dr. John C. Maxwell, this presentation divides his People Principles into the five critical questions we must ask ourselves if we want to win with people:

* Readiness:  Are we prepared for relationships?
* Connection:  Are we willing to focus on others?
* Trust:  Can we build mutual trust?
* Investment:  Are you willing to invest in others?
* Synergy:  Can we create a win-win relationship?

Learn and practice the People Principles, and you will be able to answer each question in a positive way that will make you relationally successful.  You will be able to build healthy, effective and fulfilling relationships and you have a chance to become the kind of person who makes others successful too.  What could be better than that!

Winning with People:  Discover the people principles that work for you every time!

Speaker: Kim D Moore

Kim Moore is passionate about leadership. For 30 years, the military officer, school administrator, adjunct professor, cancer survivor and certified coach, teacher and speaker for the John Maxwell Team has been at the forefront of training others to maximize their potential. Her philosophy is simple: All people are leaders—from the stay-at-home mom raising children, to the store clerk representing a franchise, to the CEO of a Fortune 500 company. The only question is this: How effective are they?

The seeds of leadership were planted in the U.S. Army. As a Company Commander and training officer with the Chemical Corps, Kim led hundreds of soldiers and staff. She also instructed all branches of the military in preparedness for nuclear, biological and chemical (NBC) warfare including weapons of mass destruction (WMD). The experience required a level of training, coaching and drive unlike any she had known while growing up in small-town Chester, Pennsylvania. She held onto those skills, carrying them into her subsequent career in education as a high school teacher and, currently, an administrator for Hillsborough County Public Schools in Florida. Kim has also taught business courses as an adjunct professor for a national university.

As her career progressed and later shifted, the wife, mother and avid sports fan learned yet another key aspect of leadership: balance. Now, with each new venture or training opportunity, Kim says her goal is to “add value” to others’ lives, empowering them to solve problems, weigh priorities, reach their potential—and have some fun, too. It starts, she says, with recognizing the leader in us all.
