Radiate Christ - Forming Youth for Discipleship - Archdiocese of Detroit 

Young people experience Christ radiated from communities who intentionally welcome, form, and guide them as missionary disciples. This workshop assists parishes in implementing “Christus Vivit – Christ is Alive” by exploring the process for the adolescent faith journey, presenting best practices for teaching discipleship with youth, and sharing a vision for becoming a community of witnesses using direction provided by the Joy of Adolescent Catechesis document published by the NFCYM, NCEA, and NCCL, in collaboration with the USCCB.  

The workshop will include the following sessions: 

  • Proclaiming the Heart of the Gospel to Young People today
  • Teaching Youth Discipleship
  • Radiating Christ – Witnessing Faith

This workshop includes practical ideas and starting points as we explore the ministry implications for youth ministry, catechesis, sacramental preparation, and parish life. The schedule for the workshop is 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and can be provided for all parish leaders whose ministries touch the lives of adolescents—including pastors, deacons, pastoral associates, coordinators of youth ministry, leaders in faith formation and catechists, Confirmation preparation leaders, and service/social concerns leaders. The series begins in January 2020 and runs throughout the year.

The cost is $59.00, which includes lunch, handouts, and other materials.

Please join us for interactive learning, conversation, prayer and discovery around connecting families to sacramental ministries for children and youth. The day begins with registration and check-in at 8:30 AM and the workshop is from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM. Lunch is provided.

2) Each registrant MUST have an email address specific only to them to register.

Cancellation Policy: Registrants may cancel and receive a refund, less a $25 cancellation fee up to 14 days prior to the scheduled workshop date. Registration cancellations made within 14 days of the scheduled workshop dates are non-refundable. If for any reason a workshop is cancelled by CMD, the registrants may have the fee applied to anonther workshop in the area, a re-scheduled workshop, or receive a full refund.
