Featuring Robert Sweetgall - Keynote Speaker
Robert Sweetgall, often called The Real Forrest Gump, has walked and ran 7 times across America and is the only person to have walked the full fifty states (11,208 miles) in 365 straight days. Author of 19 books on walking, wellness and active living, Robert has appeared on hundreds of radio/television talk shows (NBC Today, Regis & Kathie Lee Live, Evening Magazine, NPR Radio & TV, etc) and has spoken to over 1 million people worldwide while helping thousand of corporations, communities, schools, hospitals and health organizations implement safe & sustainable wellness programs.
In his former life, Robert was an overweight Brooklyn boy nicknamed Butterball, chocolate cheesecake lover, high school valedictorian, Dupont Chemical Engineer & ultramarathoner. Motivated by a family history of heart disease, Robert left his $100,000 11-year Dupont engineering career to take his message on the road – literally – walking the talk across America to speak to 100,000 students and teachers on heart health. Years later, The Wall Street Journal headline read, “When Sweetgall Walks, People Listen.”
